Cash Management System - Online banking for Corporations
Client >> Metavante :: Project >> Account Reconciliation/Positive Pay
Managing check fraud risk has been an important issue for the corporate customers. The Positive Pay feature resolves these problems very effectively and minimize the risk to the maximum extent. The responsibility of design, development and integration of this feature into the CorpEB product has been given to INTECH by Metavante.
INTECH has carefully evaluated the requirements and discussed various options with different banks, made adjustments to modularize, and to provide flexibility, scalability. Some of the functionalities provided by INTECH are the following:
- Customer user can import the data file (check items) which is generated by their respective accounting packages.
- User is provided with a feature to create and manage the file data formats. This allows the different banks and their
- Customers to have flexibility of creating a very customized data format, while making use of the existing templates.
- User can import (or upload) the data file in any specified template.
- Excellent reporting mechanism with a detailed description of syntactic and semantic errors of the data that is imported.
- Flexibility in managing the frequency of the transfer of data to the back-end AR system
- Customer user is provided with a list of exceptions everyday which are mismatched with the data file that they imported. < pay of decision a make and exceptions the all review to chance given is user>
- Customer user provided with a list of informative reports (summary and detail) on the transfer of data, check items, exceptions and the resolution
- of the exceptions.
- Image Positive Pay functionality let the users see the images of the checks to resolve exceptions.
- Gives total control on the payments made by the commercial customers and helps in account reconciliation.
- Administrative functions are also provided to implement security levels and assigning tasks within the customer users.
Some of the flexible solutions provided by INTECH to make it highly customizable are :
- UI customization: This is achieved by database driven UI generation, with the help of generic frameworks.
- Security Customization : The feature has been subdivided into modular functions which are managed by the administrative functionality to provide security at different levels. There is an optional "approve" feature provided, so that the decisions on exceptions can be reviewed if needed by another customer user.
- Modularization: This is achieved by a separate set of database tables (independent of DBMS) with scripts to add/delete this whole feature.
- Flexibility in adding Semantic data validations: The semantic validations differ from one bank to another. J2EE features such as reflection is used to provide high flexibility with hooks to customized business rule modules.
INTECH has also provided the systems integration services to build interfaces to interact with the back-end AR systems for one of the large banks.
The development was carried over on Java, J2EE technologies (Servlets, XML, JSPs, EJBs) under IBM WebSphere and successfully deployed on Solaris boxes.
Client: The Internet Bank :: Project: ACH Architecture and Strategic Consultation
The Internet Bank needed to analyze an existing Windows-based ACH client/server product both in terms of functionality and technology to turn it into a web-based Internet application using state-of-the-art technologies.
INTECH participated in the vigorous analysis tasks and helped with guidance and advice on how The Internet Bank could convert the client/server application into a flexible and scalable web-based system. We defined a high level architecture and design to capture the requirements of ACH users and to allow a seamless integration with any other banking application.
Client: Metavante/Bank of the West
Project: ACH Customization and System Integration
Customizations required by Bank of the West for Metavante's product WebDirect have been developed by INTECH. Besides tailored functionality, the project included the GUI design and development of an interface with PEP+. The tools utilized were Rational Rose for the design and J2EE technologies (Servlets, XML, JSP, EJBs) under IBM WebSphere for successful deployment on Solaris boxes.
Client: Metavante/Bank of the West
Project: Wires - Customization and System Integration
Bank of the West required substantial customizations on the Wire Transfer product included within Metavante's WebDirect solution. INTECH performed requirements gathering/analysis, designed, developed and deployed the solution achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.
INTECH also designed and developed the Wires Interface, an independent (close to real-time) application intended to integrate Wire Transfer to Bank of the West's IntraNet wire system. Built with PULL and PUSH mechanisms, the Wires Interface is similar to an independent B2B application interacting with a J2EE system through XML over HTTP on one end and a host using formatted text over sockets on the other end. It is highly configurable to include different pluggable components depending on the needs making it highly customizable. This middleware application works fine both on Solaris and on PC environments.
The same application has been used for other banks such as BB&T and Bank of Montreal.
Client: Metavante/Bank of the West
Project: Cash Management System Training and Performance Tuning
Intech has provided the Cash Management System training in CA to Bank of the West technical personnel. This training includes - Overview of Cash Management System - Functional and Technical Integration with the existing Banks systems - Performance tuning and Managing Load balancing issues - Support issues and Maintenance process - Security management with Digital Certificates feature with EnTrust's product.
Client: Metavante/Bank of the Montreal
Project: Wires Transfers feature
Intech represented Metavante to work with the Bank and perform system analysis and developing functional requirements and architectural modifications.
Retail & Business Banking Projects
Client: Equifax e-banking solutions
Project: WebConnect feature for Quicken (QIF, QFX)
Equifax e-Banking Solutions needed to integrate a feature into their consumer and business banking product. This feature would allow users to integrate their personal accounting software package, Quicken, with Equifax. This project required a sound knowledge of the technology, integration mechanisms, and a good financial background with a complete understanding of Quicken interfaces, what convinced Equifax to chose INTECH Software Solutions to develop the solution.
INTECH analyzed Equifax' technical infrastructure, design methodologies and user needs before coming up with a very reasonable time and cost estimate for this project. When INTECH was given the complete responsibility, it built the solution to exactly fit Equifax' technical standards, design philosophies and development processes. The Quicken interface project was timely delivered with design documentation and integration test results. Later INTECH was informed that users were very satisfied by the way the feature worked with different versions of Quicken.
The development was performed using Visual Basic, Visual C++ ,XML, OFX ,COM and other Microsoft technologies.
Client: Equifax e-banking solutions
Project: Export feature to Microsoft Money (OFC, OFX)
This project was also presented to INTECH when the need arose for an interface with Microsoft Money. This required expert knowledge of OFX and OFC specifications and standards to work with both the newer and previous versions of Microsoft Money.
Since the Quicken interface project described above did not produce any issues throughout the entire QA process within Equifax e-Banking Solutions, it was an easy decision for Equifax to award the Microsoft Money interface project to INTECH. The interface delivered by INTECH automatically opens up the Money product and seamlessly downloads transactions from Equifax' online banking product, CustomerLink. The interface was designed to provide flexibility while users download the transactions from CustomerLink.
The client's development standards and methodologies were followed to make it a very smooth integration. The development technologies include VB, COM and XML/OFX.
Client: Certegy, Inc
Project: Interface to QuickBooks (IIF, QBO)
Certegy,Inc. awarded the project to facilitate QuickBooks integration for their business banking users. The challenge here was to map the data fields and generate the IIF interface files for QuickBooks. INTECH's flexible design solution to deal with categories in QuickBooks was very well received by users.
This project was completed and timely delivered to Certegy, Inc. with highest quality standards of design, integration and test documentation. |
